You will need an approximately 65mm – 70mm hole through the wall.

All are pre charged for 6 metres of pipes; any longer and refrigerant MUST be added (see question 4 below). If the unit requires more refrigerant, this will have to be added by an FGAS registered engineer.

Yes¸ they can be above or below each other but the outdoor unit should not be more than 5 metres above the indoor unit.
All systems use 2.5mm² – 3 core flex for power supply / interconnections and signal wires are 2.5mm² – 4 core flex for inverter models.
KFR23/26/33/36/37/50/53/55/56/57/63/66/74/75 require a standard 13 Amp supply.

KFR120 requires a 20 Amp supply with a C or D Motor Rated Trip/Fuse

NOTE: Ceiling Cassette Models KFR50/74/120 require power to both indoor and outdoor units.

KMS3MIO require a standard 13 Amp supply / spur to the outdoor unit; the outdoor unit supplies power to the indoor units.

KMS5MIO require a standard 20 Amp supply / spur with a C or D Motor Rated Trip/Fuse to the outdoor unit; the outdoor unit supplies power to the indoor units.

New ErP Inverter Systems
KFR23/26/33/36/53/56/63/66 require mains power supply to the INDOOR UNIT ONLY.

KFR37/50/55/57/74/75/120/ require mains power supply to both indoor and outdoor units.

KMS3MIO/5MIO and matching indoor units require power supply to the OUTDOOR UNIT ONLY.

As a guide we have calculated costs for some models to give an idea .

Based on an average cost of electricity @ 10p per kilowatt hour (divide the figures by .10 and multiply by you Kwh price to get an accurate figure)

Inverter models cost approx 20% less to run on average.

Yes¸ all our systems will automatically restart after a power failure.
KFR23/26/33/36/53/56/63/66 : 16 degrees to 32 degrees Celsius.
KYR25 : 17 to 30 degrees Celsius
KYR35/45, KFR37/50/55/57/74/75/120 : 17 to 31 degrees Celsius.
Cooling:
All systems operate from -15 to +45°C.

Heating:
KMS3MIO/5MIO, KFR37/50/55/57/74/75/120 operate from -15 to +45°C.
KFR23/26/33/36/53/56/63/66 operate from -10 to +45°C.

Wall split units come with an indoor and outdoor unit¸ pre-insulated copper pipe-work to connect the units¸ electrical interconnecting cables¸ a wall mounting bracket for the indoor unit and a remote control¸ plus manuals.

Multi-split units come with an indoor and outdoor unit¸ electrical interconnecting cables¸ a wall mounting bracket for the indoor unit and a remote control¸ plus manuals.

Ceiling Cassettes come with an indoor and outdoor unit¸ pre-insulated copper pipe-work to connect the units¸ electrical interconnecting cables¸ ceiling trim panel for the indoor unit¸ ceiling fixings (subject to ceiling void height) and a remote control¸ plus manuals.

Mobile Air Conditioner units come with an exhaust hose¸ window fitting kit for exhaust hose¸ water outlet pipe and a remote control¸ plus manuals.

These are not ideal locations to mount the outdoor unit as it requires fresh air to flow through the matrix to aid operation and cooling in summer. There would also be the need to install an adequate condensation drain from the unit for water removal when the unit is run in heating mode.

As a guide if you have a warehouse of a minimum 2000 approx SqFt with high eaves then this would be acceptable for the outdoor unit¸ but more units would need a larger warehouse¸ approx extra 1000 SqFt per unit. The warehouse temperature would also need to be fairly cool¸ as most are but it would not be suitable in a hot manufacturing area for example.

Yes¸ the outer casing is made from painted steel and will withstand general rainfall and sunlight.

However we would recommend as part of the general maintenance of the whole system that it is periodically treated for rust and anti-corrosion.

If you are in an area where the air has a higher salt content then we suggest that a higher level of maintenance is carried out to increase the life of the casing.

No not necessarily however a cover can protect it from harsh weather conditions enabling it to be treated for rust and anti-corrosion less often along with providing shade in the summer. However full airflow to the front and back must be available: the front must have at least 60cm clear and the back 10cm.
Yes providing it is not blocking any airflow to the unit.

A ‘picket fence’ type of surround i.e. planked with very open gaps with a roof would be acceptable. The front must have at least 60cm clear and the back 10cm or the ‘planks’ must give at least 50% air flow between them.

The lower down the wall you mount the indoor unit the more efficiency you will lose when cooling.

This is due to the location of the louvers along the bottom of the inside unit as it is designed to mount high on the wall and blow down into the room.

However¸ many customers have done this with good results; keep louvers fixed horizontally and do not block the flow into the room.

As a rule you will lose about 15% efficiency. In winter it actually works very well as heat rises!

The timer function works on a day to day basis. The settings are stored in the remote control unit and sent to the indoor unit through infrared signalling. You just initialise the timer each day by pointing the remote at the indoor unit and pressing the timer function.

General Maintenance:
The inside unit will require the filters to be checked and possibly removed¸ cleaned and refitted at least once a quarter depending on how dusty the environment is. Contact us for help on removing and refitting the filters if you are unsure.

Annual Servicing:
In line with the manufacturers recommendations¸ and to keep any warranty validated¸ your system must have an annual service from a qualified FGAS registered air conditioning engineer who will check temperatures of the coils¸ check the pipework and to clean the internal and external coils and foil fins.

If any error code beginning with ‘E’,’F’ or ‘P’ (dependent on the model) appears in the display then immediately switch off the unit and telephone us on 0370 3344556 for technical support.

DO NOT USE the equipment again until you are told to do so by our engineers otherwise permanent damage may occur.

However there are two exceptions to this rule¸ they are ‘DF’ or ‘#‘ (dependant on system model)¸ Both these codes mean that the unit is running through it’s defrost procedure and normal operation will resume within approx 30mins. This normally only happens during the colder months. If your system does not resume operation please contact us.

A pump must be used when it is not possible to use gravity to take the condensation water away from the drip tray in the indoor unit to the outside of the premises.

The pump is placed inside the drip tray or above the ceiling and will pump the water up to a maximum height of 8 metres¸ then out of the building.

A Mini Lime Pump like the Orange Pump is used to take the condensation water from the drip tray; however it is fitted in plastic conduit (trunking) to the side of the indoor unit rather than fitted into the drip tray. You can use this conduit to hide your refrigerant pipes and cables as well. It can take the condensation water upwards a maximum height of 8 metres.

70cm from the bottom of the unit is the maximum water lift height¸ then the pipe will need to use gravity to drain the water out of the building.
Both hoses diameter size are 14 cm.

3.6m (10.8ft) maximum length for KYR-25CO.
4m (12ft) maximum length for KYR-35/45.

Window Kit:
For KYR-25 the maximum extension length is 95cm.
For KYR-35/45 the maximum extension length is 106.5cm.

The drain hose dimensions of the PDH series Dehumidifiers are:

500mm length

17mm ø Hose end connection to the appliance

15mm ø Outlet to drain connection

The additional charge for R32 is as below:

1/4 liquid pipe over 6m = 15g per meter

3/8 liquid pipe over 6m = 30g per meter
