I am sure you are already aware companies are required to retain certain information from a customer who is purchasing air conditioning that requires fitting/installing.
The Environments Agency are monitoring the uptake for this legislation.
We have created this to help and support our customers to prevent any oversights as this legislation must be followed.
The company selling to the ‘installer’ or ‘final owner’ must request and retain the F-GAS registration number of the customer’s certified engineer prior to or upon purchase.
See link for information from the Government website on this subject. (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/selling-f-gas-or-equipment)
An extract from the link is below:-
“Get a letter from end users of F Gas equipment
If you sell stationary refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump and fire protection systems, you must get a letter from the end user to confirm the details of the qualified technicians they are using to installl”
The above relates to all installed types of air conditioning, a certified F-Gas installers name and registration number should suffice.
The below statement relates to all portable air conditioners that are supplied by us, there is nothing required for these units as they are sealed.
“You don’t need this letter if the equipment is hermetically sealed”
So to recap, this relates to the seller of fitted type air conditioners who are selling to the end user or to an installer of that equipment.
